Edmundo Ros will be reaching his 100th birthday on Tuesday. The maestro of musical sunshine, all round awesome latin-american sound-master, musician, vocalist, arranger, bandleader and a favourite of the Queen. Edmundo directed his latin-american orchestra, recording many fine LPs across his 70 year career. In the 1950s, he ran his own night-club in London, the Edmundo Ros Dinner and Supper Club, a club into which only those mentioned in Who's Who could enter(!). His music is the sound of a sun-drenched vacation. Something we could all use about now. Where did I put my copy of Mambo Jambo?
