Just managing to squeak this in before the bells, here are ten of our most favourite new releases from 2011 (in alphabetical order). This year was an amazing year for music (both new and old) and we've still lots to catch up with from those releases - as well as continuing to bring you all the new treats which I'm sure await us in 2012.

Happy New Year's Eve
We here at the Moonbase would like to thank all our listeners, Twitter followers and Facebook fans for all your loyal support throughout 2011 and hope you continue to put up with the strangeness in 2012.
To see you into the New Year, here's Zooey Deschanel (on the ukulele no less) and Joseph Gordon-Levitt enquiring as to what are you doing on New Year's Eve.
Ms Deschanel's new series, New Girl, commences at 8:30pm on 6 January on Channel 4.

Kristnaskon Movies
Three of the tunes in this week's Christmas special can be enjoyed visually as well as audibly. First, here's a fan-made video to accompany Sean O'Hagan's beautiful Christmas song from 2010, Kabon's Christmas:
Next up is the bonkers and sadly all-too-brief Punjabi version of Jingle Bells, an animation by Nupur Bhargava. Thanks to Brad Yost of the Exotica Mailing List for bringing this one to our attention:
And thanks to listener Michelle for pointing out that there is a video of Natalia Paruz performing Silent Night on the musical saw:
PMB060: Gajan Kristnaskon (Booker T and the MGs, Georghe Zamfir, Sean O'Hagan, Tracy Thornton, Natalia Paruz, The Mistletoe Disco Band)
Festive lunar greetings to all our listeners for this week's all-Christmas special! On this week's show we bring you a selection of well-known Christmas favourites played in some very unusual ways. We have a version of the Twelve Days of Christmas where partridges and gold rings are entirely absent and a version of Last Christmas which may cause you to rethink the oeuvre of Wham. We also have a rather lovely original Christmas song from Sean O'Hagan of the High Llamas.
